When the concept of training is in inception mode, always remember that you are the expert. People are looking to you and the content for guidance, motivation and reassurance that they will walk away from your course with more than what they came with.

Trust us, this is a good thing!

So let’s simplify the steps for creating an effective online course and how myQuest can be incorporated into each one.

Planning training course content

1. Choose Your Course Topic. Nutrition? Fitness? Employee Onboarding? Sales Training?

a. You name it. myQuest will help to create a community mindset around whichever topic you choose to write your course about. We offer Community Building where it is encouraged to connect with your students and have those students connect with one another. Having a sense of community supports accountability and transparency. And, we’ve found that community aids in the momentum of information retention and motivation

b. By reinforcing important messaging, down to the personal level, myQuest will help you transform traditional content into an interactive experience.

2. Who is the target audience of the training?

a. Whether your audience are complete newbies or seasoned vets, make that decision so that you can organize your training to get to the crux of the topic you are training them on.

3. Once you choose your audience, let’s start the building!

a. Be specific

b. Break your content down in a way that is not overwhelming but rather, informational and digestible. Think about the way you would like to receive information. It’s always helpful to put yourself in the shoes of your students.

c. myQuest structures your courses as missions and provide your students with goals to achieve! As each micro-goal is reached, your student receives the next mission and advances to the next level in the training. We call this action based learning.

4. Choose Content Type

a. Maybe you want to speak to your students via a video. Create that humanized connection with your audience

b. Of course, a nice compliment to video are images and text. Maybe you want to create stunning visuals to accompany your video, transforming text into stunning visuals with the help of graphic design tools. This will help engage your audience and make your message more memorable. This is an effective way to deliver information when you find yourself rambling on in a video.

c. Spreadsheets and/or Slides are another opportunity to create a visually appealing atmosphere for your students. Change it up a bit, studies show that students respond well when the content delivery is engaging and not static
